What Is Short-Term Therapy?

Powerful new therapy techniques recently discovered and used at Integra Counseling Services dramatically reduce the time needed to accomplish meaningful change. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), for example, is a method by which traumatic memories that are causing distress can be reprocessed. Individuals are able to take what is useful, self-enhancing, or instructive from their experiences and discard the rest (or self-heal). This self-healing also occurs very rapidly and, therefore, people do not have to spend excessive amounts of time or money to achieve the natural healing process of the mind, body, and spirit.

Other alternative processes available make use of gently tapping on specific acupuncture points on the body, which individuals learn how to do themselves. With a success rate of 85% or better, these "energy" therapies are the most exciting new therapeutic tools available today!
